  • Pupils must have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP)

The process

  • View school via our website and social media.
  • Discus with Brooklands, availability of school spaces.
  • Discus with your current school/nursery and SEND casework officer about requesting Brooklands.
  • Your SEND casework officer will send the child’s EHCP to Brooklands through a process called ‘consultation’.
  • Brooklands looks at the EHCP to see if we can meet the needs of the child.
  • Brooklands returns back the consultation saying whether we can or can not meet need. During this process we also look at the available space that we have. We are heavily oversubscribed.
  • If the consultation is no, we cannot meet need, you are informed by your SEND casework officer.
  • If the consultation is yes we can meet need, the SEND casework officer allocates space according to local authority criteria.
  • If you get a place at Brooklands we will send you a welcome letter, invite you to a transition meeting and start to consider how we will transition your child to Brooklands. We will also talk to their existing setting to build what we know about them from their EHCP.
